Hi everybody!
We won't be posting again until almost June. Scott and I are going on a two week trip to Scandinavia. It was planned almost a year ago, way before we decided on a date for the wedding. We're super excited. I may post a few pics from my cellphone if I can figure out how.
Keep checking back!

oops
Oh man, Scott was pointing out to me this morning that because we didn't specify on the invitation, that some people might think the ceremony is right at 5! Forgive us, we're new at this stuff. There is actually going to be an hour or so of snacking, mingling, and sipping before the ceremony. So if you're a few minutes late, no biggy. Please spread the word to anyone you know is coming about this little detail.

marriage license
![]() |
We went to get our marriage license this morning, bright and early |

It all went smoothly. We saw a couple of kids who looked about 16 applying for theirs. The guy was wearing a tshirt that said, "may all your pain be champagne", which is a festive sentiment.
Here we are after. We weren't quite sure my phone was taking the picture so we look a little confused.

photos!
Ok, so no photos of us as kids, yet, but here are some photos of us on trip to Europe in 2009. You guys know we love to travel, and this was our first time in Belgium, and my first time going to France. Pictures after the jump

what you can expect
We did some more shopping for wedding supplies this weekend and that mission took us to Party City. Here are some things you won't see at our wedding.
Wacky hats
Scott in wedding-related flip flops.
A cake with a silly figurine.
OK, Scott might wear this at some point.
No chocolate fountains! These things seem unsanitary.
You will see flowers from this farmer's market vendor. I just love his bouquets. So wild looking.

What's the deal with the Verge Center for the Arts?
Due to the fact that it often hosts fun events, many of you have already visited the Verge Center for the Arts - the space where we're getting married. However, some of you haven't been there/may not know what it is. Verge is a non-profit space that encompasses many artist's studios, a gallery, and soon to come is a classroom and print shop. The Executive Director, who is a friend, has generously offered the space for our wedding.
The Verge will be under construction in June, so it will be a bit dusty and it is a big, cavernous warehouse space. We will be working hard leading up to the wedding, stringing lights and decorating. It's a cool, funky space. It's at 6th and S, downtown, (very close to the 5th st and 10th st exits) and there is plenty of free parking!
Here's Verge's website so you can find out more.

Baby pic!
Scott and I haven't really had time to go through our old photos yet for a proper picture post but I just happened to have this one pinned to my bulletin board at work. That's me, age 3(?) making it..cough....1977...or so. I'm poolside in Honolulu, Hawaii right here, and it might just be my birthday, judging by the bow stuck on my head. I think I even remember receiving this little outfit as a gift. Is that possible?
I visited Hawaii a lot as a kid because that's where my grandmother and grandfather on my mom's side lived. They owned a few jewelry stores. I should scan some pictures of those two, too!
